I love how the black and white colour scheme of the journal and filler cards allow the photos to pop. And the 'Live Colour Fully' filler card just seemed so relevant given the bright colours of my photos this week. One thing I played around with, given my 'use physical product' mandate, was using vellum for adding journaling to my photos. This is something I would normally simply do in Photoshop prior to printing. I am really happy with how the vellum looks and makes you look even closer at the images in order to read the added comments.
Another new element to my pages this week are digital flairs - printed and attached using dimensional tape. I am resisting buying physical flairs as I know that there are so many cute ones out there and that I will potentially become obsessive in collecting them, just as I have with wood veneers and washi tape. As I mentioned above, I am a collector of pretty things!! I have also resisted adding flairs to my pages due to the bulkiness that they create and I am hoping to keep my PL to only 2 albums maximum this year. So these digital ones seemed like a good compromise - the flair you have when you are not having a flair....
I have two favourite elements on this page. The first being the heart filler card, which I love simply because of the colour, the hearts and the wood veneer heart. The second element is my 'Currently' card noting what I was watching, reading, eating, listening to, feeling, loving and wanting at the time. I would love to incorporate such cards in my PL albums more frequently as they are a great snapshot of my life at the time and of the things that are featuring in my world. Note to self: Do this more!!!.
I do love the image of my daughter and her friend in bed together as it captured the excitement and joy that they share when they see each other. They become so crazy when together but have an absolute ball together as only 7 year old girls can...
And for the layout as a whole....
