The main sources of materials for this week are my Studio Calico PL monthly kit and the new monthly digital kit 'Pocket Life' by Traci Reed Designs. I used the January collection for this layout and loved it as it is full of red-coloured goodies - perfect for this week...
Being the last week of the school holidays, it was all about enjoying our last days of freedom, catching up with friends and crafting as much as possible. Holidays are definitely the time for embarking on new projects, and one new one for this year is 'The History Project' as created by Kerry Bradford. It is all about recording your stories - primarily from your childhood years - preserving them for future generations. It has an emphasis on writing and journaling rather than scrapbooking, but does allow some room to play with cut files, photos and embellishments. Like so many projects I have started over the years, I cannot say that I am any where near up to date and weekly entries have not happened. But it is something I want to continue to work on and complete so as to have a document of my life for Lilly in the future. Not to mention I got a delicious chocolate buffalo notebook for it from Typo for writing in. I would love to think that she will one day embark on a similar project for her children. Anyway, back to PL...
I love the photo of our snake's - Miss Jane - shed!! Whether you are a snake lover or not, you cannot help but appreciate it. It is so awesome in terms of it's intricate detail, right down to the eye socket. It simply had to be preserved and included in this week's pages...
