An update on my Project Life for 2014.... I am currently working on Week 17 which was the week of our family holiday to Coffs Harbour over the Easter holidays. It was a wonderful time and I am really enjoying reliving the many wonderful activities and moments, all the time wishing I was back there enjoying the sunshine and relaxed pace of life that is holidays. So I am currently about 5 weeks behind!!?!? While I usually do not stress out about being behind, I am feeling a little stressed at the moment simply because I have not had much time to enjoy my PL and the creative process that goes with it. I have really missed the process as it is my release from the pressures and dramas of life. After almost 18 months of doing PL, I can honestly say that I am enjoying it more and more over time, as I discover new techniques, products, designers and develop my style and photography. PL has also provided me with a world of new friends and fellow PL devotees, some of whom are quickly becoming close friends... So all in all, PL continues to be an important part of my life!! So let's get down to business......
I was really happy with how it all came together and how the colours in the collection worked so well with my photos. It is part of a monthly release by Mye that come under the banner of 'I Collect Memories' and is a great monthly collection - jam packed with journal cards, papers, embellishments, brushes and so much more. Was a favourite of mine prior to joining Mye's CT and continues to be so...
As mentioned above, this was the week of heading back to school for both Lilly and myself, and so was a busy time of adjusting to our new classes - her at Hazelbrook and me at Richmond North PS.
In terms of techniques, this page was put together and embellished as I have previous weeks, using my Silhouette Cameo to print and cut the embellishments. I also introduced some enamel dots on one of the journal cards. I always worry about achieving the perfect balance of randomness when placing them but need to realise that it is supposed to be random, and so I just have to let go of my notions of perfection, and simply have fun with such and other products and techniques.
Until next time - remember to always make time for your own creativity within your hectic and busy schedules as it is so good for the mind, soul and even the body....
