I have spent the last couple of weeks reflecting on my PL journey and album for 2014 so as to assist me in deciding where I want to go with 2015. In doing so I have made the following decisions: -
- I do want to continue doing weekly spreads as I like that they keep me disciplined and focussed on capturing my everyday life and moments. I have to be alert and mindful to capture the everyday stories and moments that is my and my family's life.
- I do want to continue with my digi-hybrid creative process as it works for me and I really enjoy the creativity that Photoshop and the endless supply of delicious digital supplies offer me. Indeed I want to delve deeper into the world of Photoshop and the creative possibilities that it can offer me, and hope to complete some classes.
- I have decided to do square corners on all my cards and images this year. I did it in 2013 and changed to rounded in 2014 and to be honest, having to round everything drove me nuts at times but I had to stick to rounded for the duration of the year as I cannot mix rounded and squared in the one layout as love continuity and consistency in my albums. I love the clean look of square corners and lessening the fuss in putting my layouts together.
- I have also chosen a new journaling font for the year. I like to choose and stick to just one font for my journalling so as to again maintain continuity and consistency throughout my album. This year I have decided to move away from the handwriting font of last year and use a typewriter-style font called 'Travelling Typewriter'.
- I am looking for an alternative for my title card but still have not found one that I love!?!? I was hoping to use a calendar style card but nothing has caught my eye. So for the interim (and possibly the year??) I have decided to go with a variation of my title card that I have used for the past two years. Unfortunately the designer of my original cards is no longer designing, and so I have gone with an adaption of this template and one recently released by TracI Reed - with tweaks to match my vision. I am not completely happy and hope that I will find my perfect card but at the same time, I do not like to spend too much energy on my title cards as they are not the most important element on the page....
- I do plan on continuing to work on my photography skills - honing them and experimenting with different techniques to keep my photos fresh and interesting. I recently completed Ali Edwards' 'Lens of Joy' class and learnt so much and was able to reflect on my photographic vision in capturing my stories.
Well that about covers my plans and goals for 2015 as they stand at this time. I am continually looking to improve my creative process, allowing my style to evolve and change so as to reflect my life and the way I view the world. To quote Ali Edwards, 'I am a work in progress'.....
So what do I have to show you besides bombarding you with my above ramblings, well I am proud to say that I have my title page for 2015 done and in the album!! This is a big thing!! I find title pages totally intimidating and frightening as they set the tone for the album. Last year it took me until February to be brave enough to tackle the dreaded first page (!!) and my second album for 2014 still does not have one!?!??
Without further ado, here it is....
I have receive quite a few comments that the page is so happy and this is indeed what I wanted it to exude!! Now I just have to pull my finger out and get busy creating Week 1 so I can be back before the end of the week to share....
How are you going with your 2015 title page? What decisions or goals have you made in terms of your Project Life journey for 2015? I would love to hear your thoughts and plans...
Until next time....
