PROJECT LIFE - WEEK 12

I just love the holidays for the opportunity to relax, get creative and catch up on my Project Life.  I have managed to get two weeks completely finished and in the album this week (including the one I am here to share this evening...), and have photos edited and placed for a further 3 weeks - just awaiting all the fun stuff that bring pages and images to life. I am hoping to be caught up by the end of this coming week but not sure how I will go as I have a busy week ahead of errands and catching up with friends before heading back to school the following week. I guess only time will tell...

Well let's explore the week that was for Week 12... It was a busy week at school with lots happening and a quiet one at home with K away for work.  I chose to work with a new collection from Mari Koegelenberg Creations called 'Oh Happy Day!' which is available from The Digital Press, and decided to complement the fresh colour palette, patterned papers and journal cards with some further cards, papers and embellishments from an older kit from my stash, 'Hello Sunshine' by Pink Paislee available from AC Digitals.  The two collections work so well together due to their similar colour palette.  I loved drawing from both new and old additions to my stash and plan to try and do this a bit more often.  It is always so tempting to play with the most current releases and forget all the awesomeness that is sitting on my hard drive - a bit like all those physical products and papers that are sitting and collecting dust in my craft cupboard.  So I am hoping to start going back and using some of the 'older' digi files from time to time....

With Easter only weeks away, I had become rather addicted to the humble hot cross bun!! I have to admit I am now missing them post-Easter as a quick, tasty and maybe not-so healthy breakfast and mid-morning snack.  They were never really on my radar until this year.... but I certainly made up for it and figured it needed to be noted.  Oh they look so delicious in this photo - my mouth is watering just looking at and writing about them...

Tuesday of this week was 'Harmony Day' at school and as always, was a great fun day of fostering cultural diversity, understanding and acceptance - something that is becoming so important in our current social climate.  I love these hands that all the children made and then installed around the perimeter of our school hall area.  My kindy's did theirs with our older buddy class, which in itself was a fun experience and relationship building - all in the spirit of working together in harmony.....

This photo does not do full justice to the beauty of the sunrise on Wednesday morning upon dropping Lilly off at before school care.  The carpark of the school has the most awesome viewpoint from which to take in our own section of the Grose Valley in the Blue Mountains, and the sun rises of late have been spectacular.  But I never seem to be able to capture their true beauty.  But I guess when it is a photo of a photo, some of the beauty is bound to be lost - so you will just have to take my word for it.  I also love the cute cloud and sun embellishments I was able to layer from both the collections used this week.

How can I not choose a photo of my Lilly as one of my favourites on this page!?!? The journalling says it all....

When you find your parrot inside the rabbit cage eating the rabbit's food - well what else can you do but take a photo!?!? And as I type, this young fellow is sitting behind me chatting and talking up a storm as he does when he thinks no one is listening.  We are quite outnumbered by our furry, feathered and reptilian family members but we would not have it any other way as they bring us such joy.... And this guy definitely thinks he is the alpha male of the family with the rest of us, simply members of his flock!?!??!

And lastly I have included this one as I love how the diagonal journaling turned out on this striped card - which is actually a patterned paper clipped to size.  I have seen lots of physical PL'ers do this diagonal journalling and always loved how it looked.  So this week I decided to give it a go and so glad that I did!!! Get ready to see it on future pages...

I love how it all came together!! I also love how I can create a different look for each week by using collections from all my different favourite designers and new ones as they come onto my radar.  Working digitally allows me such endless possibilities and an ever increasing world of awesome collections, which can work solo or be combined seamlessly with other collections. And those weeks where I want to also play with physical product and become more hybrid, the fun increases even more....
