After using mainly digital kits all year, I decided to once again break out the physical supplies and to also use one of my favourites in Becky's Project Life Core kits - the Kraft edition. When I initially started putting the week together, I was worried about not having enough photos but as I continued to work on the pages, I found that I did have enough and they really captured a week where school life dominated my life and I had to make a conscious effort to find things to take photos of. I really had to find the beauty, the unexpected and the important things within my everyday existence.
I love the image of the bracelet given to me by a student as it represents a special moment with a student, signifying the development of a relationship with them. But furthermore, it represents the beginning of my journey into the more manual modes of shooting with my Canon 550D DSLR and using RAW rather than JPEG. I have mentioned previously that this year was all about trying to use different angles and perspectives when framing my images, and this was a turning point in this journey...
I really love this right hand side of the layout!! There were more photos to choose from and I love the smaller instagram style images. When it came to embellishing this layout, I had to grab my box of embellishments as unlike more digital weeks, Becky's kits do not include coordinating embellishments. I am happy with the way the embellishing turned out and it was nice actually using the stash!! My two favourite images from this page are the cloud shot taken on the way to work one morning, where I had to pull over once it caught my eye as just loved the way you could actually see the rays of light coming through the cloud. The other is the picturesque river image which was only possible in the morning when the water is still and the reflections perfect.....
Week 9!! This is one of my favourite weeks in my Project Life journey to this point. It is a week where I felt like I had found my groove in my hybrid creative process. I love that the week is photo heavy and the embellishments are clean and simple. I used a mixture of sources this week including Becky's Jade digital kit, freebie filler cards from Pinky of Life Documented Manila, digital stamps and word stickers from Traci Reed's March Pocket Life collection, Studio Calico wood veneers. I love how the colours in the photos worked so beautifully with filler cards and Jade journal cards.
I also continued to admire the natural world around me especially the drive down and up the mountain each day through Yellow Rock and Yarramundi. I love my iPhone 5 for its awesome panoramic camera and the amazing images it creates. They look awesome split across pockets. I really love the embellishment cluster on this bottom image as well.
Yet perhaps the highlight of the week is Friday night at the February Project Life Crop in South Penrith. I just love these wonderful ladies and have become great friends with group of them. I love meeting with like-minded PL devotees and being inspired by the different approaches and ideas. It is very quickly becoming an event I look forward to each and every month....
Until next time......
