Well now that you are ready and hopefully comfortable, bring on Week 17!!! This was the week that we went on our Easter family holiday to Coffs Harbour. It was a superb week of family fun and togetherness, sunshine, beaches, bush walks, fishing, tourist destinations and reliving childhood memories. A week too big to put together in a simple double page layout, so get prepared for two 12x12 layouts and twelve Design G 10x12 inserts (well six double sided).... I did warn you!!!
In putting together my pages this week, I have primarily used products designed by Mye De Leon. Mye is a designer that I have admired for quite awhile, using her products since late last year when I discovered her work. Back in April, I was appointed to her Creative Team for 2014 - a MASSIVE honour!!! But having said this, all the products I have used in putting this week together would still be in my collection regardless. If you have not seen her work, you should definitely check out her website here as all her collections are jammed pack with delicious goodies that work together.
The first pages use a Design A 12x12 and Design G 10x12 page design. Design G is my all time favourite insert - something I am sure I have mentioned before now. I have primarily used Mye's 'I Collect Memories: Frolic' collection released back in May, and was perfect for capturing the peace and serenity that is a holiday by the coast. It captures our first day of settling into our resort, enjoying the pool, attempting to go fishing and enjoying sunset by the water...
After the Big Banana, we head to the beach for a picnic, a swim and some FISHING!!! I love fishing and was super excited to do it after way too many years. My childhood holidays always consisted of fishing as my Dad loved it and we always holidayed by the coast. I can remember being 5 and fishing off the wharf by myself.... And unlike our first attempt on Day 1, we caught some!!! Nothing huge, but something nonetheless and it was super exciting. Great fun memories!!
On Day 3, we headed away from the water and sand, and into the gorgeous hinterland surrounding Coffs and in particular to Dorrigo National Park and Bellingen. It was here we found a beautiful spot that we could both move to!! We both really loved the peaceful, country town feel to the Bellingen village and drooled over acreage properties, some with river fronts and green rolling hills, while still being only 25 minutes to the coast and all the facilities of Coffs. Anyway, I diverge... The main activity on the day was the Dorrigo Rainforest Walk - a walk of beauty, nature and lots of whining and whinging from our precious 7 year old!! The view from the skywalk was awesome and it had the coolest feature - a 'selfie post'!! It consisted of a fixed and permanent tripod-like fixture onto which you could attach your camera and using the timer mode, capture the whole family!! It is not often that we get a decent photo of the three of us. Such 'selfie posts' should become widespread features of all tourist attractions.
The last two pages capture our last beach visit and the journey homeward. Lilly was just so in her element at the beach, loving every thing about it and hamming it up for the camera. Its a shame that we live so far from the beach and do not get to visit it too often. It doesn't help that Kendall and I are not huge fans and especially in the hotter summer months. But we should definitely make a bigger effort to go for Lilly's sake...
Until then....
